Home > Sales Order Management > Entering and Managing Sales Orders

Entering a sales order is the first step in the sales order process. When you enter a sales order, the system assigns a next status and last status to each detail line according to the order activity rules and the processing options for sales order entry. For example, when you enter a sales order, the system assigns a last status of 520 (enter sales order) and a next status of 540 (print pick slip).

You can set up order activity rules according to your business requirements. Therefore, the next and last status codes might be different from the examples that are described in this and subsequent topics.

Upon completion of this lesson, you will be able to:

  1. Understand sales order entry.
  2. Set processing options for the sales order entry programs.
  3. Enter sales order header information.
  4. Enter sales order detail information.
  5. Manage existing sales orders.
