Processing Accounts Payable Drafts An accounts payable draft is a promise to pay a debt. Creating a draft is a multi-tier process that involves several steps. With draft processing, a bank holds the document and releases the payment to the payee on a set date, which reduces the risk of default for both pay issuer and payee. Note: You can also use the manual payment process to create accounts payable (AP) drafts. Upon completion of this lesson, you will be able to: • Understand the accounts payable draft process. • Understand setup requirements for processing accounts payable drafts. • Create accounts payable draft vouchers. • Create draft payments. • Update and post draft payments. • Close and post drafts.
